UX Designer & IT Business Analyst
US Deptartment of Veteran Affairs
Salesforce UX Design Lead
Spring 2024 - Summer 2025
The Challenge:
Specialists at the US Department of Veteran Affairs needed a centralized location to view data related to a veteran's demographics, military history, and benefit information. Previously this data was spread out across various partner systems.
I designed a "Contact Card" to offer a consolidated view of the information with launch points for specific user flows. I also created a prototype using declarative design in OmniStudio to display data in Salesforce.
Key Highlights & Outcomes:
Prototype with Declarative Design: Used Salesforce and OmniStudio platform to configure a prototype with 20+ reusable FlexCards for development.
Wireframing in Discovery phase: Created user flows and high-fidelity wireframes in Figma leveraging Salesforce Lightning Design System. Delivered 100+ mock ups including 8 user flows in 2 design sprints.
Collaboration with various teams: Presented Salesforce prototype to Client leadership, IT, and business stakeholders. Collaborated with product, development and architecture teams to ensure feasibility of design decisions.
Design Consulting: Advised on Human Centered Design best practices. Consulted on Salesforce capabilities and technical limitations, bridging the gap between UX design and platform development.
Handoff and UI Validation: Exported FlexCards and provided documentation for development team. Conducted UI testing in various sandboxes to ensure adherence to design. Logged and resolved platform styling defects.
